William Hare Wins ECIA Safe Working Award

William Hare has been announced by Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) as a winner of its Safe Working Award for 2013. The award is in recognition of William Hare's achievements in maintaining low accident rates throughout 2013.

This is the second award William Hare has achieved for its safety record during 2013, coming close on the heels of the announcement of an International Safety Award from The British Safety Council.

Working within the framework of the Health and Safety Executives RIDDOR regulations, William Hare achieved an Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) throughout 2013 which was well below the industry average.

In presenting the award, Richard Ash the Safety Health and Environment Manager of the ECIA noted “Such performance does not come about by chance.”

There is no doubt that our members deliver a performance that is substantially better than that for construction as a whole. Broadly speaking ECIA rates are nearly three times better than those for construction more generally. We therefore extend our congratulations and thanks to William Hare for its contribution to this.
